A fifth taxi firm could soon be operating in Qatar as state transport company Mowasalat begins taking bids for a company to run a fleet of up to 500 cabs.
The organization is advertising in local papers about the launch of its tender process, which will allow Qatari companies to bid to become a new franchise for the turquoise Karwa-branded taxis. Mowasalat has previously said it plans to increase the number of cars operating from 4,000 currently to 7,000 by the World Cup in 2022.
