Local women will soon have access to sports facilities at independent schools after the Ministry of Culture and Sports and the Ministry of Education and Higher Education signed an agreement yesterday.
According to the Peninsula, the move aims to promote physical activity among Qatar’s female population and ward off lifestyle diseases such as obesity. The facilities should be available during the evening hours within the next two months, and will serve as an interim solution as more community sports centers are built for women and girls.
