The debut of the world’s longest direct flight – from Doha to Auckland, New Zealand – has been delayed by two months, according to an industry website.
Airline Route reports that Qatar Airways will launch its service to the city – a 17.5-hour, 9,031-mile journey – on Feb. 1, 2017, rather than Dec. 3 as initially planned. The report comes several days after Qatar Airways reduced the frequency of 15 flights this summer due to delays in receiving new planes from aircraft manufacturer Airbus.
