After two days of heavy rain around the country, Qatar is expected to start drying out from today, according to local forecasters.
But as the rain abates, a Siberian high pressure system is moving in and will stick around until at least Monday.
In a statement, the Qatar Meteorology Department (MET) said the front will cause winds to pick up and temperatures to fall.
Expect temps to reach around a maximum of 17C (63F) during the day and 10C (50F) at night in Doha.
It will likely be colder and windier outside of the capital, forecasters added.
Flooded roads
While welcomed by many, the rain did cause some disruptions this week, including an uptick in road accidents.
Play was also interrupted repeatedly at the Qatar Total Open women’s tennis tournament. And the weekend MIA Park Bazaar was canceled.
Meanwhile, municipal employees have been frantically working to clear waterlogged roads across the country.
Officials said that over the past few days, more than 30 million gallons of rainwater have been pumped out of streets and intersections in Qatar.
